Updates and upgrades are exclusively offered as downloads through the Steinberg Online Shop. HALion 5 (full version, US $349.) and HALion Sonic 2 (full version, US $249.) are now available from resellers and through the Steinberg Online Shop. HALion 5 also has two new sound sources, slicing mode and two new MIDI modules. So if you have installed Cubase 9.5, HALion Sonic SE 3 is already installed and, if necessary, only needs to be updated. Remembered I had HALion, and it's got some gnarly sounds and effects, plus Groove Agent sounds good. Recently bought Blue Cat's Patchworks VST which allows me to run VST3 and AU in Reason.
Please note: HALion Sonic SE 3 is also included in Cubase 9.5 or later. In Steinberg Download Assistant, the HALion Sonic 3 SE installer can be found at the top of the list of your HALion instrument's components. Installed both, didn't do much with them, forgot about them because Reason is my weapon of choice. If you don't have HALion 6 or HALion Sonic 3, you can use HALion Sonic SE 3 which is available for free.
